Devils Run

Thank you to the Devils Lake Chamber Staff for their excellent service throughout this past year for the annual Devils Run Car Show. Hundreds of phone calls were answered throughout the year, mail was received and sorted, bags were stuffed with goodies provided by our local businesses, and registration was handled in our office (with the help of the Rotary Club of Devils Lake). Thank you to all of the businesses that support this event with your donations!

GNDC Executive Summit

Executive Director Suzie Kenner attended the first annual Greater North Dakota Chamber Executive Summit on June 5 & 6. ND Associations came to present their legislative agendas, and round table discussions were had relating to Chamber organizational activities. 

Midwest Travel Journalists Association

Tourism Director, Suzie Kenner, sponsored and hosted a table at the MTJA conference in Bismarck on June 13^th. 40+ travel writers were on hand and learned about all of our offerings in our area.

Ruth is the Event & Communication Coordinator at the Chamber and moved to Devils Lake in 2020. She is originally from England and likes to vacation in Jamaica, where her parents are from.  

Property tax measure could cost state about $1.3 billion per year, estimate shows

A proposed statewide property tax reform measure would cost the state about $1.3 billion each fiscal year, according to a state estimate.

Adam Mathiak, senior fiscal analyst for Legislative Council, provided the estimate to the Legislature’s Government Finance Committee during its meeting.

A proposed measure would end property tax based on assessed value and rely on the state to fund budgets for counties, cities and school districts.

ND Firefighter Association Convention

Visit Devils Lake was excited to host the spouse event for the convention on June 6-9, 2024.

We took two buses up to the Webster School house for breakfast, lunch, and fun activities. Then they headed back to Devils Lake and explored our historic downtown area on a retail-inspired wine walk.
