Devils Lake Area Chamber Director Suzie Kenner attended the annual Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) meeting in Dallas, Texas. The national conference provides an opportunity to learn from peers, meet trusted partners and hear the latest industry trends. The hot topics this year were Artificial Intelligence (AI), Workforce Development and Member Retention.

Suzie Kenner shared, "The ACCE Convention is an invaluable opportunity for us to connect with other Chamber organizations, exchange ideas, and discover innovative strategies to enhance our organization and contribute to a more vibrant and sustainable community."

We believe that attending the ACCE Convention will provide us with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration we need to continue to build a strong and successful Chamber organization that serves our community well.

ACCE is the professional society supporting those who lead local, regional, statewide and international chambers of commerce and related business and economic development organizations. Their membership includes more than 1,600 business/civic organizations worldwide.

The Department of Commerce received an appropriation from the 68th North Dakota Legislative Assembly to provide support to organizations addressing workforce challenges and barriers to employment through the ND Regional Workforce Impact Program (RWIP). The RWIP provides grants to regional workforce entities in North Dakota to design and implement innovative plans to address their region’s most demanding workforce challenges. The RWIP grant aims to support the cost of local solutions that will have a broad impact through a community or region. The Department of Commerce aims to increase participation in the workforce statewide by equipping communities with resources to invest in initiatives that are catered to the needs of their region. On August 21st, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Shores Event Center took place. This exciting new development marks a significant milestone for our community, providing a much-needed, versatile space for weddings, conferences, and other special events. The Shores Event Center is expected to be completed within the next year. With the stunning location and state-of-the-art facilities, it will be a premier destination for gatherings in the region.
