This Month's Member Spotlight |
Who is Lake Region State College? We are a 2-year community college that offers a wide range of programs and degrees. We also have transfer coordinators on campus to help students set-up their academic paths in order to provide a smooth college experience for those looking to continue to a 4-year college or university. We are constantly holding student events, students rarely say there is nothing to do! We have a full athletic department and booster club along with the Community College Foundation. There is so much to learn about our institution and we love to meet new people. Stop by and see the campus or reach out to us to learn more about what we offer! We also have a great informational website, lrsc.edu!
What is your favorite thing about having a business in Devils Lake? THE COMMUNITY!! We will say this over and over again! When we ask for donations, they are above and beyond and never hard to receive. Our community loves to give and loves to meet and be involved in the college.
What special offers or opportunities do you have for October? Our students have arrived on campus, so we have lots of opportunities for the community to be involved! Whether it be athletics (like joining the booster club and attending games), offering help with tutoring for students, or donating prizes/fun opportunities for students, there is something for everyone!

This fall marked the 11th Annual Fall Festival in Devils Lake. The event took place downtown, filling the 4th Street and the surrounding side streets with laughs, pumpkins, homemade goods, and great deals! Families enjoyed pumpkin picking, games from Safe Alternatives for Abused Families and the Robotics Team, and bouncing in the inflatable bounce houses.
For lunch there were a variety of options, from walking tacos from the Old Main Street Cafe, "authentic" Minnie H hot dogs from the Lake Region Arts Center, and mouthwatering burgers from the Crofton Lodge. After lunch, attendees shopped exclusive Fall Festival sales at LaMotte's Paint and Glass and Creative Impressions. Slumberland Furniture joined the fun with crochet hats and a limited-time homemade Fall Festival Jam. The Boy Scouts sold popcorn to munch on, our kid vendors had 3-D pumpkin bracelets, custom fishing spinners, and Chamber staff created their own personalized pens at the Minnewaukan Girl Scouts' booth.
A special thank you to CoJack Snack and Pack for the pumpkins, the Devils Lake Park Board for bounce houses, 4-H for supervising the fun, Ricky Jorgenson for driving hayrides, and all of our downtown businesses for joining in on the fun! We hope you all had a "wonder-fall" time and hope to see you next year!

New Heights for Devils Lake Regional Airport |
|
|
The Devils Lake Regional Airport has recently undergone a major transformation, with significant renovations that have enhanced the facility. The expanded terminal now accommodates more passengers and offers new features such as a new boarding bridge, an upgraded TSA screening area, a baggage carousel, and more! To celebrate, the airport hosted an open house October 1st from 1 pm to 3 pm. The open house was a huge success and featured a ribbon cutting for the new terminal drawing in residents of Devils Lake and it's surrounding areas, members of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission, State Legislators, and staff from North Dakota Tourism.
