This Month's Member Spotlight |
Why is Lake Region State College a Chamber Member? We have a membership to help promote our events, have a guide to make sure we stay on top of learning new things in the community, and much more! The Chamber is just a really great thing for our school to be a part of! We love awarding Chamber Bucks to our college students as they can use them at our bookstore and in the community. The Chamber is just a great organization to be involved in!
Tell us something interesting about you! We almost always have something going on and we are very proud of our athletic department! Check our sports teams out! We also offer way more programs than the community might be aware of! All of our programs are listed on our website. We also have a daycare on campus!
How has Lake Region State College changed in the past year? We are always changing! When it comes to our student body we are faced with a new set of interests each year that we adapt to! We are also always improving the physical parts of our campus.

Chamber Marketing Coordinator Attends Tourism Marketing Summit |
|
Our marketing coordinator, Veranna Schindele, attended the North Dakota Tourism Marketing Summit in Bismarck on October 9th. The Summit provided valuable insights into the latest trends and strategies in the tourism industry.
The Summit celebrated the successes of the tourism industry in North Dakota from 2024. Summit attendees were able to gain insight from the North Dakota Tourism team and have engaging discussions while looking at statistics from both domestic and international travel. North Dakota Tourism Director, Sara Otte Coleman, provided an overview of the upcoming media plan for 2025 and the North Dakota Tourism team introduced the co-op plan for the upcoming calendar year.
Governor Doug Burgum also addressed the summit, expressing his pride and appreciation for the tourism industry in North Dakota. He highlighted the importance of tourism as an economic driver for the state, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration and innovation within and between North Dakota communities. To learn about the economic impact yourself, visit North Dakota Tourism's website or jump right on in to the statistics and numbers here.

Devils Lake High School hosted a spectacular career fair as part of the Regional Workforce Impact Program grant received by the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce earlier this year. The career fair took place October 3rd from 4:30 - 7:30 PM, coinciding with fall Parent-Teacher Conferences. The event drew a large crowd of students, parents, and participants, with Principal Ryan Hanson noting it was one of the busiest nights of parent-teacher conferences he's ever seen, despite Thursdays being a traditionally slower day for conferences.
At the career fair, 40 businesses and post-secondary institutions were present, showcasing a wide range of career opportunities. Students had the chance to connect with potential employers, learn about different industries, and gain valuable insights into future career paths.
The event was made even more special thanks to the hard work from Devils Lake High School's Culinary Arts students, who provided a delicious dinner (and scotcheroos).
We look forward to seeing everyone again at the Summer Job Fair, March 26th!

Something's Brew'n at the Devils Lake Chamber! |
|
|
Thank you to all who joined us for our first Brew'n Business event of the season! The day kicked off at the Fireside Inn & Suites where Ann Pollert and Veranna Schindele gave attendees valuable tips regarding business culture and marketing their business to the workforce. As an added bonus to the morning session, the Up North Photography offered complimentary headshot updates!
The evening continued at Joe's Sport Center with a social hour from 4:30 - 6 pm, where we had a beverage, shared laughs, and tried a new snack (peanuts and candy corn.. who knew!!).
We're grateful to those who attended and are excited for our next Brew'n Business event November 5th, where we talk insurance with local experts Dan Ness and Nichole Bertsch!
