Devils Lake Tourism at the Capitol

On January 22nd, Executive Director, Suzie Kenner, and Marketing Coordinator, Veranna Schindele attended Tourism Day at the North Dakota State Capitol. Tourism Day allows industry professionals from North Dakota to collaborate with one another, meet with legislators, and advocate for the vital role tourism plays in the state's economy. During the event, North Dakota Tourism launched their 2025 campaign alongside Governor Kelly Armstrong.

The Devils Lake Tourism booth highlighted the Devils Lake area and its diverse tourism offerings. Warren Blanchfield, General Manager of Woodland Resort, also attended. He shared the progress on their new event center, The Shores, made possible by the Destination Development Grant. Representative Kathy Frelich, a strong supporter of tourism in the region, stopped by the booth to learn more about Devils Lake's offerings and connect with local industry leaders.

Our February Brew'n Business will be February 11th from 9 - 10 am in the Chautauqua Room of Lake Region State College.

This month, we talk business safety and security with States Attorney Daniel Howell, Chief Jason Toso, Captain Ben Harkness, and Detective Sergeant Samantha Rodriguez.

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit that incentivizes businesses to hire individuals from specific disadvantaged groups, such as veterans, long-term unemployed individuals, and ex-offenders. By hiring from these targeted groups, employers can receive a tax credit, which can help offset the cost of hiring and training new employees. You can click here to learn more!
